Operating temperature -60/-50 to 100/130°C. Melting point:
eq. 167°C.
It has low coefficient of linear thermal expansivity. It is
chemically very resistant. Resistant to dilute acids and most alkalis,
detergents, oils, polar solvents. It is characterized by high weather
resistance. Resistant to UV radiation, ozone, moisture. Is well
processed.
Characteristics of unfilled brands (PP + EPDM):
Density (23°C): 0.90-1.10 g/cm3
Tensile strength (23°C): 14 - 20 MPa
Tensile modulus (23°C): 600 - 900 MPa
Shore A hardness (23°C): A55 - D50

3.28 Thermoplastic Vulcanizate
Thermoplastic vulcanizate, Thermoplastic rubber (TPV, TPE-V,
TPR).
Properties
Crystallizable thermoplastic rubber-like material. Operating
temperature: from -60/-40°C up to +65/130°C. Compressive strength
is higher than that of styrenic thermoplastic elastomers (TPE-S).
TPV is characterized by a high fatigue strength, resistance to
alternate loads. It has a high chemical resistance. Resistant to water,
antifreeze, water salt solutions, dilute acids and alkalis. It has
dimensional stability. It is well colored (usually recommended
pigment concentrates based on PP, but it should be clarified from the
material suppliers). It undergoes ultrasonic, friction welding, etc.

Density (23°C): 0.94-0.97 g/cm3
Tensile strength (23°C): 2-28 MPa
Shore A hardness (23°C): A35-D65
Application
Large and complicated automotive parts. Coverage for the
pedals. Seals for windows, lights, etc. Bicycle seats. Flexible parts of
household and office equipment (including heat-resistant). Elastic
part of cell phones. Elastic computer keyboard casing. Mouse balls.
Rollers to feed paper in office equipment. Hoses, fittings and seals
for washing machines and dishwashers. The handles of hand tools.
Handles and elastic parts of the power tool (drills, etc.). Handles of
the construction tools (brushes, trowels, etc.). Flexible parts of the
kitchen tools (for automatic washing).
