Preface
https://t.me/medicina_free
Individuals interested in altering their facial appearance possess a unique set of motivating factors distinct from patients requiring surgery related to illness and abnormal pathology. Treatments for elective aesthetic goals require specifi c analysis and evaluation with a high standard maintained to avoid complication or untoward treatment results. This patient group is healthy psychologically as well as socially motivated to rejuvenate the results of the aging process. They are typically less prepared to accept risk or complication than the individual requiring nonelective surgery. Techniques to help serve their desire to improve and rejuvenate their appearance must minimize morbidity and possible unfavorable postoperative sequelae.
This text describes a technique that strives to combine surgical steps that minimize complications with the opportunity for excellent results. The technique described in this book has developed and evolved over the past three decades. The fundamentals and key steps discussed have been described as the “Safety Facelift”. The aim of course is to avoid complications as much as possible. There are
numerous techniques and procedures described and espoused at this time to improve facial appearance spanning a wide array from minimal approaches to very aggressive and invasive techniques. This spectrum is understandably confusing to the developing surgeon. It is not suggested that this text contains the only surgical answers and that other techniques are without merit. It is possible to state that the technique described herein will reliably provide appropriate results and help avoid serious complications.
The ultimate goal for this book is to provide a visually oriented text that in direct, easily understood, stepwise fashion provides the reader with a reliable, safe method for facelifts. Emphasis and importance is directed at careful patient analysis, selection of key and effective surgical steps, and avoidance of signifi cant risk. Surgeons providing aesthetic facial changes create results that are visible and on display for all to appreciate or criticize. I hope that this text will contribute to surgical outcomes favorable to patients and surgeons alike.
