We have covered in some detail the general methods of assessing and treating a patient with pediatric glaucoma. There is a long history of anecdotal and “opinionbased” recommendations because few eye doctors have substantial long-term knowledge of either the eye diseases associated with glaucoma or the surgical experience with individual problems. Conditions encountered in the developing world make the treatment choices for an individual patient even more of a challenge. In addition to the suggestions and knowledge imparted here, the reader may want to read as much literature as in available on these subjects. But there is no doubt that using this information you will be better equipped to take on that responsibility with more confidence and certainly with a more systematized way of thinking.
