The Succession to the Throne is regulated through descent and by Parliamentary statute.
The basis for the succession: the Bill of Rights (1689), the Act of Settlement (1701)
The Succession to the Crown Act (2013) ended the system of male primogeniture (daughters and sons are equal in succeeding to the Throne)
