Nowadays, education plays a key role in a person's life. With its help, people can reach incredible heights, build their careers, and be in demand and professional specialists in their field of activity. Being educated means knowing a lot of necessary and useful things for life.

Russia has a special system of education. Children start primary school at age 6-7. Then they leave primary school and begin secondary school at the age of 10-11. In Russia, children finish school education after 9th grade and go to college for secondary vocational education, or go on to high school and go to university. To enroll in higher education, you need to pass your final examinations and pass the competitive selection. If you get good results, you can apply for a state-financed place. In this case to charge no tuition fees. At university a person can get a degree.

The variety of school systems around the world is great. Let's compare the education systems of Germany and China with the education system in Russia. The opportunity to get a higher education for free exists in Germany and Russia, but in China, university tuition is paid and very expensive. In China and Russia there is a single regulatory framework for the functioning of higher education institutions, in contrast, there is no accreditation of universities in Germany. In all these countries, a student can graduate from a university with one of three academic degrees. All three countries have their similarities and differences, but in my opinion, Russia's education system is similar to China's.

My favorite teacher at school was a history teacher. He was very strict and treated all students equally. Despite, he always keep students interested in his subject by offering a range of activities: showing interesting facts and documentaries, analyzing historical documents and maps. All the topics of the lessons were explained clearly. Moreover, the teacher changed the pace of the lesson quickly, first the test, then the video, then reading the documents, you couldn't help but follow the lesson! Therefore, it was difficult to get good grades, because you had to be good at answering questions well in class, but it was fun!

Distance learning is increasingly used. This has its pros and cons. The advantages are that teachers can use innovative interactive methods of teaching students. For example, use lectures from free Internet resources to support the curriculum. In addition, it is possible to provide students with individual training programs. Currently, there are thousands of courses in numerous disciplines. However, the disadvantage of online learning is lack of face-to-face contact and failures in both technology and the Internet. Also, it can be difficult for many people to concentrate on studying at home.

I would like to say a few words to you about my attitude to higher education. I am sure that higher education is vital these days, because the more you know, the more benefit you can benefits to society. Higher education helps to get fringe benefits and expect a high starting salary. Besides, it gives you an edge over non-graduates. I am inclined to think that higher education should be free. I can't believe that someone get into debt and spend studying years paying of a university loan.

I chose Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University because there was an interesting curriculum for the profession that I wanted, and information about my training program was presented on the website in a different and interesting way. While studying here, I have never regretted my choice, because the institute has state-of the-art physics, chemical and computer laboratories and excellent sports facilities. In the main building there is a well-equipped library where you can hit the books. It is convenient and interesting to study here.

In conclusion, I want to say that education is an important part of our life. This is the key to our future. There are many ways to get an education now. We must not miss opportunities, take a responsible approach to study, and then we will be able to succeed and realize ourselves in the future.
