TOPIC 14 «Autumn study»

Every season is good in its own way. Every season has pleasant sides to it, but autumn gives us something that is difficult to find in any other season of the year. I especially like early autumn. During this time, the weather still grants us with some warm days. Nevertheless, autumn is spell weather of rains, beautiful trees, and melancholy. The weather in this season is so uncertain. It is a lovely weather for ducks, hazy and wretched. It can be windy, rainy and chilly sometimes. The days become shorter. The sun is rarely shown and warms up weaker, grey clouds tighten the sky and it is raining heavily. Birds fly away to hot countries. The trees are slowly losing their leaves, which is sad to see. At the same time, the leaves turn into magnificent decoration of the ground. In the morning, one can see a thick fog covering everything around, which gradually turns into a drizzling rain. Though it’s getting colder, many people still like autumn weather, because in autumn it is very colorful and atmospheric. However, there is another important event. Famous Indian summer, which autumn is famous for, repeats on average every other year and lasts from three to four days to a crescent. It comes, according to ancient signs, on the first day of autumn according to the old style, and according to the new it falls on September 14. Previously, "cabbage evenings" began at this time. The dreary time of autumn has not yet come, and the summer, filled with worries about the harvest, is already over.
