Dear Sir or Madam,

With reference to your announcement on the

conference website, I am writing to participate in the

letters contest. I believe that the most urgent issues

of the biosphere nowadays are consider the ongoing biodiversity slump. Species extinction rates are accelerating, stripping the biosphere of its crucial resilience. Ecosystems are becoming frightfully fragile, wobbling under the strain of human activities.

Another critical issue is plastic pollution. Millions of tons of plastic waste end up in oceans and landfills every year, harming marine life, contaminating food chains, and persisting in the environment for centuries.

Finally, the problem of nutrient overload (eutrophication) in aquatic ecosystems demands immediate attention. Runoff from agriculture and industry is dumping excessive amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus into rivers, lakes, and coastal waters, triggering algal blooms, dead zones, and a cascade of ecological damage. This effectively chokes the life out of these vital environments.

I hope that my point of view corresponds to the

opinion of the modern scientific society.
