startup and shutdown operations. An outline of the auxiliary steam
system is shown in Figure 2.11.2, and examples of auxiliary steam
uses or users are shown in Table 2.11.2.
The auxiliary steam system can supply the steam with required
quantity, pressure and temperature conditions for operation of
heating equipment installed in the plant
The steam is supplied from the steam header of the house boilers to
each piece of equipment through the main steam pipe.
All of the steam recovered
as condensate water in each piece of equipment is re-used for the
boiler water after being collected to the feed water tank of the
house boiler.
The house boiler system mainly consists of the boiler, the fuel and
burning unit, the feed water unit, the water treatment unit and the
control unit An example of the house boiler system is shown in
Figure 2.11.3.
The compressed air supply
system supplies compressed air required by plant
operation. The system consists of the instrument
air (IA) supply unit, the station service air (SA) supply unit and
automatic depressurization
system (ADS) actuating valve gas supply unit
The IA supply unit provides dry air for operating control of
pneumatic valves and instruments. The pneumatic valves are designed
with the fail-safe
