  1. Analysis of Data and Improvement

  1. Analysis of Data

(1) To confirm the suitability and effectiveness of the quality management system, and then to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system and improve it continuously, the data must be analyzed by using statistical techniques such as "QC 7 tool" or "New QC 7 tool", and the present status of the organization must be represented objectively and be evaluated. It is important to clarify what data are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system, and to collect them. These necessary data include the data obtained from monitoring and measuring results and the data from other relevant sources.

"Data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement" are as follows;

  1. Measurement data on the achievement of nuclear safety

■ Safety management review results, nuclear safety inspection results, comments from inspectors at the time of routine work.

  1. Internal audit data

  • Matters indicated by audits and their action rate.

  1. Data of process monitoring and measurement

  • Quality target achievement rate, educational training completion rate, design change situation after design review completion,

delivery delay rate, equipment availability, operating availability, and action rate for the matters indicated by audits.

  1. Inspection and test data

•Deviation rate from acceptance criterion.

’’Data from other relevant sources” include the data on nonconformity management, activities for safety operations that are basic preventive actions, and the findings obtained from other facilities, etc., and examples are as follows.

i )Data related to nonconformity management

  • Number of cases, frequency of occurrence, classification

  1. Preventive action data

  • Occurrence status of nonconformities in other plants and facilities (number of cases, frequency of occurrence, classification)

  1. Purchasing process data

•Supplier's evaluation results ( including reevaluation).

(2) The analysis of data must provide information on the following items and the effectiveness of the quality management system must be able to be improved continuously by that information. Continuous improvement does not mean that individual activities are being carried out continuously; rather it means that improvement activities are being performed continuously inside the organization.
