Chapter 3 Systems of PWR Nuclear Power Plants

the screens are systematized with hierarchy classes (plant level, system level and component level) and access to desired screens is easy through a screen navigator system (screen menu and functions of displaying related systems).

  1. Systems screen

Mimic presentation (simulated figures of system alignment) of systems with the layout of relevant information for monitoring and operation is displayed on the screen. Operation of ON/OFF valves and auxiliary systems are done on this screen.

  1. Controlling screen

This screen displays controllers with trend records of the relevant parameters. Manual regulation of parameters of the controllers is done

on this screen.

  1. Screen for exclusive monitoring

This screen displays the major parameters of the plant and the safety systems in a form that is concentrated and easy to watch so users easily grasp the plant status.

  1. Alarm system

The alarm VDU displays alarms in the chronological order of initiation, classifying them into primary systems (two systems of core and NSSS related / supporting systems), secondary systems and electrical system (c.f. Figure 3.6.14

  1. ). In addition to alarm specific importance indication (static importance indication), dynamic alarm indication is employed, identifying the
