The title of the article is “INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION AND THE EVOLUTION OF COMPETITIVENESS FACTORS”. The article was written by Polyakov Ivan Alekseevich and Kolesov Ilya Alexandrovich. It was published in the journal "Studentskiy" in 2024.

The object of the article is to show the role of International competition as a key characteristic of the global market, which can seriously affect national economies. The article attempts to determine the factors of competitiveness and methods of increasing country’s competitiveness.

At the beginning of the article the authors highlight the significant influence of international competition on national economies' competitiveness.

At the next stage the authors identify groups of factors that countries must focus on to maintain and improve their competitiveness. These factors include factors of production, technological level and labor productivity, human capital and technological potential, economic environment and financial system, standard of living and social expenditures, state support and economic stimulation.

Further the authors state that in modern conditions of a market economy, competition is an effective tool for stimulating business activity, scientific and technological progress, the quality of goods and meeting the needs of consumers.

In addition, the authors suggest three certain steps for the Russia's economy to increase the country's competitiveness.

First, it is necessary to reform the export structure and increase the share of exports of high-tech goods and services.

Secondly, it is important to identify and actively use the most promising segments in the international market, and to develop production cooperation with foreign partners.

Thirdly, it is significant to facilitate the access of Russian enterprises to the world markets of machinery and equipment, technology, information, capital and mineral resources.

Finally, the authors summarize that Russia's economic policy should aim at supporting and developing the national economy, strengthening its position globally, and protecting the country's interests.

At the end of the article, the authors emphasize once again that the competitiveness of countries and businesses depends on many factors. To be successful in international markets, it is essential to have a well-planned global strategy and to effectively organize all aspects of the business.

In my opinion, the article presents reasonable arguments and suggestions. I agree that competition is essential for the development of the global and national economies.
