Very + adjective
This puts emphasis on the adjective
It was very hot
It was very cold
Too + adjective (to +infinitive)
This usually suggests a problem
It was too hot (to sleep).
The bed was too big (to fit into the room).
So + adjective (that + clause)
This is used with a clause showing the result after it.
It is hot that I can’t sleep .
The bed was so big that we couldn’t fit it in the room.
This can also be used in informal speaking for emphasis, and has stress placed on the word. When put into writing, this is followed by an exclamation mark.
