These words do not usually come at the beginning of a sentence .
Therefore, thus, then
Also, both, all, still,
Sometimes, never, always, occasionally, often, already
They tend to follow three rules:
1) After verb ‘to be’
I am always happy.
2) Between ‘2 part’ verbs
He has always arrived late.
3) Before other verbs
He always arrives late.
Put the adverb in the correct place in these sentences
Eg The research has also brought a great deal of benefits. (also)
They indicate that there is a correlation in this area. (both)
Inflation fell dramatically. (therefore)
The centre runs workshops. (also)
It would be unfortunate if it was cancelled. (therefore)
She has been to Taiwan. (also)
First of all, a survey was carried out. The results were analysed. (then)
There are problems. (sometimes)
The government took immediate action. (thus)
The class were surprised by the results. (all)
