Addressing
People• As a student, it is socially accepted to greet fellow students or people the same age or younger than you by their first names
•If you are addressing people senior to you, such as lecturers & tutors, call them by their surname with their title of Professor, Dr, Mr, Mrs or Ms, until you know them well enough to call them by their first name, or they suggest that you do.

In terms of communication style, be gentle, pleasant & show respect. Do not be pushy, too direct or demanding. It won’t get you very far!

• O’week – and club sign up times (TODAY)
• Socialize, find a group you are interested in joining and make some friends. It is a great way to meet people.
• They range from religious groups to sport, leisure, music & art. There are around 75 in total.
