2.13 KINDS OF OPERATION

Provided that national operational requirements are met, the following kinds of operation are approved:

Daytime flights according to Visual Flight Rules (VFR)

With the appropriate equipment: night flights according to Visual Flight Rules

(NVFR)

With the appropriate equipment: flights according to Instrument Flight Rules

(IFR)

Take-off and landing on paved surfaces

Take-off and landing on unpaved surfaces

Flights into known or forecast icing conditions are prohibited.

Flights into known thunderstorms are prohibited.

Minimum Operational Equipment (Serviceable)

The following table lists the minimum serviceable equipment required by JAR-23.

Additional minimum equipment for the intended operation may be required by national operating rules and also depends on the route to be flown.

NOTE

Many of the items of minimum equipment listed in the following table are integrated in the G1000 (if installed).
