It was ten o’clock at night. Eddie was tired and hungry. He spent the last five hours talking to the company’s senior managers. He realized that he would have to resign from his job, and also that faced the possibility of going to prison.

Six months ago, everything was fine. He had a wonderful job and he made a lot of money. Then he met some people who advised him badly. They gave him a list of companies and told him to buy their shares. He had to use the company’s money to do this. At first the shares rose, so he bought some more. Everything seemed so easy. Then the stock market crashed and he lost everything.

Eddie telephoned his wife before leaving the office. He apologised for not phoning earlier, explaining that he had a difficult meeting. “You sound upset. Anything wrong happened?” she asked. “I will tell you about it if you want and when I get back,” he replied.

Они дали ему список компаний, и сказали, что бы он купил их акции. Ему пришлось потратить деньги компании, что бы сделать это. Вначале акции возросли, поэтому он купил еще несколько. Все казалось таким простым. Потом обвал фондового рынка и он потерял все.

Эдди позвонил своей жене, до того как он покинул офис. Он извинился, что не звонил раньше, объясняя, что у него было важное совещание. “У тебя расстроенный голос. Что-нибудь случилось?” - спросила она. “Я расскажу тебе об этом, если захочешь, когда вернусь” - ответил он.

Задание 7. Переведите следующий диалог.

Mr. Valov: Ну, мистер Хилл, я обещал проверить, когда бы мы могли поставлять грузовики. Теперь я могу сказать вам, что мы в состоянии предложить вам 25 грузовиков для быстрой доставки.

Mr. Hill: Я вижу. А как же другие?

Mr. Valov: Мы можем предложить их Вам на условиях доставки вперед.

Mr. Hill: Что именно вы имеете в виду?

Mr. Valov: В течении 6 месяцев.
