Favourite Rooms
There are four of us: father, mother, my brother and I. Each of us has his favourite place in our flat. My father’s favourite room is his study. There are books, pictures on the walls, a video screen and a computer. He usually writes his articles there. My mother’s favourite place is our kitchen. She likes to sit there with a cup of coffee looking through her favourite magazines. My favourite place is our living room. We have got a very good stereo system there. I often play my music in the living room. My brother Nick likes to play in our room. There are a lot of wonderful toys and books in our room.

Our Special Room
The kitchen is the most important room in many houses. So it is in our house. It is not only where we cook and eat but it’s also the meeting place for family and friends. It is not very big. It is the warmest room in winter. You can always find something tasty there. It’s tidy. There are never dirty dishes in the sink. There are wonderful flowers on the window-sill. The blue curtains on the window make our kitchen very cosy. It is wonderful when we all sit round the table drinking tea and chatting about everything. We usually tell Mum our secrets and discuss our plans for the future in the kitchen. Whenever we have a party, our friends gravitate to the kitchen. It’s our special room.
