Пьеса поставлена учениками 3-го и 4-го классов в театральной
студии лингвистической школы “Промо-М” города Москвы. В её
основу положена малоизвестная сказка братьев Гримм “Ханс-
счастливчик”. В текст пьесы были включены песни и чанты из пособий издательства OxfordUniversityPress. Постановка осущест-
влялась в рамках программы “Оксфордское качество” и заняла 3-е место среди пяти лучших команд — победителей конкурса
“The Best English of All Englishes” в 2011–2012 учебном году.

Narrator: “Hans in Luck” by the Brothers Grimm. A fairy tale with songs and jazz chants.
Выходят Ханс и хозяин.
Narrator: Hans served his master for seven years. Each day he was very busy.
Hans (поёт вместе с хозяином, Чант 1):
Busy, busy, busy everyday Busy, busy, busy – I can’t play.
Master: Are you busy Monday?
Hans: Yes, I am. Lots of work for me to do on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Master: Are you busy Friday? Hans: Yes, I am. Friday is a busy day.
Master: Are you busy Saturday? Can you play?
Hans: No!
Saturday’s a very, very busy day. Busy, busy, busy – I can’t play.
I’m busy, busy every day – even on Sunday! But now I am free and I can play!
Master: You have served me honestly. I will give you a piece of gold for that. (Отдаёт Хансу кусок золота.)
Hans: Oh, dear me! I’ll wrap it in my handkerchief, then go home at last!
Музыка. Ханс отправляется в путь по кругу, напевая. По заднему плану на Лошади проезжает всадник. Ханс останавливается и с восторгом смотрит на них.
Hans: Ah! What a fine thing it is to ride! I would like to ride!
(Поёт вместе с всадником, Чант 2.)
I like horses, yes I do. I like horses, yes I do. I like horses.
Horseman: I do, too. I like horses, too.
Horseman and Horse:
I like riding, yes I do. I like riding, yes I do. I like riding.
Hans: I do, too.
I like riding, too.
Hans and Horseman (together):
We like horses, yes we do. We like horses, yes we do. We like horses.
Hans: I do, too.
I like horses, too.
Horseman: Hey, Hans! Why are you going on foot? Hans: I must. I have this piece of gold to carry home.
Horseman: Let’s exchange: I will give you my horse, and you can give me your piece of gold.
Hans: Here. With all my heart.
Всадник спешивается, берёт у Ханса слиток золота и помогает ему взобраться на седло; потом даёт ему поводья в руки.
Horseman: If you want to ride quickly, you must call out “Jup! Jup!”
Музыка. Хансрадостныйотправляетсявпуть, прищёлкивая языком “Jup! Jup!”, после чего конь переходит на крупную рысь и сбрасывает ездока в ров. В этот момент мимо проходит Крестьянин с Коровой. Ханс коекак выкарабкивается и поднимается на ноги.
Hans: It is a poor joke, this riding. I don’t like it any more.
(Поёт – Чант 3.)
I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all. – I hate it. I can’t stand it.
I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all. – I hate it. I can’t stand it.
I don’t like it a bit. I don’t like it at all. – I hate it. I can’t stand it.
Not a bit. Not a bit. I don’t like it a bit.
Now I like your cow, I can get milk. I’d like to have a cow like this!
Countryman: Well, if you like my cow, I can give it to you for the horse.

Музыка. Ханс и Крестьянин меняются, а крестьянин вскакиваетнаконяипоспешноуезжает. Хансотправляется в путь, ведя за собой корову. Подойдя к гостинице, Ханс останавливается. Выходит Хозяин гостиницы.
Hans: Oh, my good man! Give me some beer for my money!
Innkeeper: That’s not much! (Берёт монету и выносит полкружки пива.)
Hans: Thank you! (Поёт вместе с Хозяином гостиницы
– Чант 4.)
Hans: Thanks again.
Innkeeper: Anytime.
Hans: Thanks again. Innkeeper: It was my pleasure. Hans: Thanks again. Innkeeper: Don’t mention it.
Hans: Thanks again. – You’re welcome. (Чант 4 звучит дважды.)
Ханс выпивает пиво и снова отправляется в путь.
Hans: It’s too hot! I’m thirsty! I will milk the cow now.
Музыка. Ханс привязал корову к сухому дереву, подставляет свою кожаную шапку вместо подойника, но ни капли молока так и не добыл. Недовольная корова начинает брыкаться и ударяет задней ногой удар в голову, Ханс падает. Мимо проходит мясник, который везёт перед собою на тележке Поросёнка.
Butcher: What is the matter? (Помогает Хансу подняться.)
Hans: I couldn’t milk that cow.
Butcher (протягивая фляжку): Take a drink. The cow is too old to give milk. Take it to the butcher.
Hans: Well, well. I don’t think I like beef very much. A young pig is much better.
I like pork. I like sausages! (Поётвместесмясником
– Чант 5. Ученик, исполняющий роль Поросёнка, отбивает ритм.)

Butcher: I hate beef. Hans: So do I.
I really don’t like it. I don’t know why. I can’t stand it. What can I say?
I hope we don’t have it for lunch today! Butcher: I love pork.
Hans: So do I.
I really like it.
I don’t know why. I’m crazy about it. What can I say?
I hope we have it for lunch today!
Butcher: Look here, Hans! I am ready to exchange. I’ll give you the pig for the cow.
Hans: Thank you for your kindness!
Ханс и Мясник обмениваются коровой и поросёнком. Ханс отправляется в путь. Музыка. Навстречу ему идёт парень, который несёт под мышкою чудесного белого гуся. Они беседуют между собой, и Ханс жестами рассказывает о своём счастье.
Hans: … that’s my story!
Lad: As for me, I’m taking the goose to a feast. It is too heavy! It is so fat!
Hans (взвешивая гуся в одной руке): Yes, it is heavy. It is fat! So is my pig!
Lad (озираясь во все стороны и покачивая головой):
Look here! In the village a pig has just been stolen. You can get into trouble!
Hans (испугавшись): Goodness! Help me! Take my pig and give me your goose.
Lad: OK. I will help you. I don’t want you to get into trouble.
Парень берёт веревку в руки и гонит свинью, а простодушный Ханс, избавившись от своих опасений, преспокойно идёт своей дорогой с гусем под мышкой.

Hans: How lucky I am! I can get a lot of useful things from my goose! Its meat is tasty. I can also get fat and feathers!
На сцене появляется Точильщик.
Grinder (поёт): I sharpen scissors and quickly grind, My coat blows out in the wind behind.
Hans: You are all right, as I can see.
Grinder: Yes, I’m fine. I have enough money and I’m happy! But where did you buy that fine goose?
Hans: I did not buy it, but exchanged my pig for it. Grinder: How clever of you! You only need to have money
in your pockets! Hans: What shall I do?
Grinder: You must become a grinder, as I am. I can give you my grindstone. But you can give me your goose for it, can’t you?
Hans: I certainly can. I’ll be the luckiest fellow in the world!
Grinder (меняя точильный камень на гуся): Now, take another strong stone for you. (ПодаётХансупростой увесистый булыжник с земли.) It may be useful for you! Take it with you!
Hans (сияяотсчастья): I’m the luckiest fellow in the world! However, I am tired. Oh, how heavy these stones are!
Музыка. Ханс снова отправляется в путь и попадает домой, где его встречает Мать.
Mother: Sonny! You’ve come back!
Ханс начинает рассказывать свою историю, поёт вместе со своей матерью – Чант 6.
Hans: I got a horse!
Mother: Oh!
Hans: I got a cow!
Mother: How?
Hans: I got a goose!
Mother: Whose?
Hans: I lost a horse!
Mother: Oh!
Hans: I lost a cow!
Mother: How?
Hans: I lost a goose!
Mother: Whose?
Hans: I lost a horse! I lost a goose! I lost a cow!
Mother: Wow! Sonny! You’re at home now! I’m so happy!
Звучит финальная музыка.
Narrator: That’sall there is. There isn’t any more.
Музыка. Занавес. Все выходят и кланяются.

SCENE 1 |
|
Father: Children, do you remember that tomorrow is Mother’s Day?
Boys: How are we going to keep it?
Father: I think we must do something special for her. I’ll take a day off, hire a car and take mum for a drive.
Son: What about going to the mountains?
Father: It might be a good idea, but I’d better take mum to the river because I’ve bought a fishing rod and mum may like fishing.
Girls: It’s great! I think we should buy some new clothes for this occasion. We can buy new bonnets for ourselves and for mum. She has had her old one for 5 years already.
Son: What about buying new ties for ourselves and father?
The younger son: ‘Great!’
SCENE 2
In the shop.
Daughters: Mum, look! What wonderful bonnets are here! You should try on this one. How do you like it?
Mother (tries on several bonnets but doesn’t seem to like them): Oh, no, girls. I think my old one suits me much better. You’d better buy new bonnets for yourselves.
Daughters: Look, mum, these white bonnets are becoming us perfectly! We’ll look fantastic on Mother’s Day!
SCENE 3
It’s Mother’s Day today and Father has bought a bunch of flowers and all the family are going to congratulate Mum. They look smart in their new ties and bonnets.
Father: Dear Amy! We congratulate you on Mother’s Day and wish you all the best. These flowers are for you. We’ve prepared a surprise for you. We are going fishing today and we’d like to ask you to prepare something for a picnic.
Mum goes away and brings a basket full of fruit and sandwiches.
Driver: Hello! The car has come. You may get in!
Father: Children, get into the car quickly! (Pause) What a pity, that there is not enough room for everybody which means that someone will have to stay at home. (Pause) Well, I’d rather stay at home and don’t mind the fact that I haven’t had holidays for three years already.

Sons: Oh, no, father. We can’t allow you to miss the opportunity of going fishing and trying your fishing rods. Of course, we could stay at home, but there will be no use of our staying because we can’t cook at all.
Daughters: We think you should go fishing, boys. Of course, we could stay at home, but it would be sorry if nobody would see our new hats.
Mother: Oh, no, no. You should all go fishing and enjoy yourselves. Moreover, I’ve never enjoyed fishing and the weather seems to be a bit cold.
Father: You are right, dear. The weather is getting windy and you may catch a cold. If you stay at home you won’t be so tired.
Son: Have an enjoyable day, mum.
Daughter: It’s a pity that you aren’t going with us. Mother: Well, don’t worry about me. Take the basket and
get into the car.
The children hug and kiss mum and wave their hands while leaving. Mum is waving too.
SCENE 4
After the picnic, at home.
Daughter: Hi, mum. Here we are. Mother: Have you had a wonderful trip?
Son: Oh, yes, mum. We’ve caught some fish and cooked fish soup. We played hide-and-seek and bathed in the lake. And how did you enjoy yourself?
Mother: I’ve had an enjoyable day, too. I’ve been watering the flowers, tidying up, dusting and ironing.
Father: We are glad you weren’t bored without us. Daughter: It was one of the most memorable holidays for
us.
Mother: It was one of my best holidays, too.
