Пособие основано на модульном подходе как наиболее гибком и универсальном способе организации обучения иностранному языку. Учебное пособие содержит три модуля: «Проблемы современного образования», «Отрасли инженерии», «Карьера в сфере информационных технологий». Материал пособия призван помочь студентам осознать необходимость формирования профессионально-важных качеств и важность самообразования современного инженера в области информационных технологий. Данные задания обеспечивают осознанную и систематическую отработку языкового учебного материала и способствуют развитию иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции студентов.

1 Higher Education

1.1 What is higher education for you? Prepare a diagram and explain it to your

Charles University

Charles University, known also as Charles University in Prague or historically as the University of Prague, is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1348, it was the first university in Central Europe. Among the four original faculties of Charles University were the faculty of law, medicine, art (philosophy) and theology (now catholic theology).

Today, the university consists of 17 faculties located in Prague, Hradec Králové and
