Marketing and consumerism: the major enemies of healthy environment.

Recently, the environmental problem has been acute. Human society is developing rapidly, its needs are growing. To satisfy them, more and more manufacturers are appearing on the market. Production requires resources that are limited. People take more than necessary, destroy nature, deprive animals of their habitat, violate the environment, pollute the environment, which in turn affects human health.

To increase the number of buyers, manufacturers use marketing. Every day we see a lot of advertising. It’s open, for example, banners on buses, ads during the series, which everyone hates. But this is only a small part of advertising, most of which is the so-called "hidden advertising". Corporations finance films, series, even people, and they begin to actively use or display the product of this corporation. In people, an image is stored in the head, for example, a beloved hero who uses these products, or a blogger whom a person wants to imitate. In addition to this, from the screens of telephones, televisions, from everywhere you are told "if you don’t have it, you are a loser." People start buying and buying in order to catch up with some ideals. And this in turn increases production. Very few factories use clean technology without the use of toxins that pollute the environment. To deliver goods to consumers, transport is needed that again pollutes the environment. But this doesn’t end there. We consume too much and throw things away too quickly because they break or become unfashionable. Some manufacturers specifically make low-quality goods that will not work for a long time - planned obsolescence. And all these things go to landfill, polluting the environment.

If we want to break this chain, we need to move towards awareness, towards the circular system. This is a very important issue, and I am glad that more attention is being paid to this now.
