Asked participants to rate their experience of six smells (positive/negative)

Seems like this is original research because of using new method

This bulb connected to central parts of the nervous system that helps us detect and remember threatening and dangerous situations and substances.

Quite important organ…

Results

Bulb reacts specifically and rapidly to negative smells and sends a direct signal to the motor cortex within about 300 ms.

Signals causes the person to lean away of the source of the smell.

Smell important ability to detect danger

An experiment in which had used new method, which for first time has made possible to measure signals from the human olfactory bulb, so researchers have been able to study what happens in the brain when the central nervous system judges a smell to represent danger. For this goal they found 19 participants and conducted 3 separate experiments, as result there was 540 trials at sum per participant. As a result, the researchers found out that Bulb reacts specifically and rapidly to negative smells and sends a direct signal to the motor cortex within about 300 ms. Also, bad odor signals cause the person to lean away of the source of the smell. At summary, the conclusion was made that smell is important ability to detect danger.

So, I think that it is quite good original research in which new method of measuring olfactory bulb signals was used. It is useful to note that despite the fact that there were only 19 participants, there were around 540 trials per participant. Also, separate experiments are quite good thing, because they add more objectivity to research.
