Both France and Germany systems of higher education administrated by state agencies and they have similar entrance requirements for students, however in France rector an appointee of the national government and in Germany in the same time rector elected from within.

Also France has uniformity in curriculum throughout the country and in Germany the regional universities have autonomy in determining their curriculum.

In France you firstly need to pass the examination called «the baccaleureat» to be admitted to the first preparational year at university, after which there is another exam for possibility to study another three-four years to finally receive Licence. In addition in France exists another type of universisites called «grandes ecoles» which provide advanced professional and technical training.

On the other hand, students in Germany change universities according to their interests as well as professors.

Each of these countries has influenced higher education in other nations.
