My speciality

Established in 1972 the Faculty of Electronic Devices was renamed into the faculty of electronics, informatics and automatic control systems in 2000. 10 professors, 34 associate professors, 9 senior teachers constitute the regular teaching and research staff. Approximately 1100 students are tought at the faculty.

The faculty includes four departments:

  • the department of the design and manufacture of electronic equipment;

  • the department of computer systems abd network;

  • the department of automatic control systems and electrical engineering;

  • the department of materials engineering.

The Department of Automatic Control Systems for Flight Vehicles and Electrical Engineering was set up in 1992 on the basis of one of the oldest department, the department of electrical engineering founded in 1961.

The department trains high quality specialists in the field of sophisticated engineering systems based on microprocessors and computers. The aim of the program is to provide the students with the basic knowledge in three areas:

  1. Control of engineering systems.

  2. Computer engineering.

  3. Electrical engineering and electronics.

Such subjects as the University course of mathematics, computer engineering, up-to-date information technologies and programming, microelectronics and complicated electronic complexes, the theory of automatic control constitute the scientific basis of the speciality.

In their third to six years the students actively participate in research under the supervision of the research staff of the department. Research activities at the department of Automatic Control Systems for Flight Vehicles and Electrical Engineering are focused on the following:

  • Special methods of research and design of complex engineering automatic control systems.

  • The development of methods for solving nonlinear operator equations.

  • The application of spectral methods for investigation and design of stochastic control systems.

  • The application of differential geometry methods for solving control problems.

  • The application of Lyapunov’s method for synthesis of adaptive control algorithms.

The program takes 5 years and 10 month to complete. The graduates are expected to specialize as electrical engineers. The most gifted students get the opportunity of advanced training in the 7th year. After graduating they are granted the qualification of an engineer-reseacher.
