First of all "family" means a close unit of parents and their children living together. There are a lot of similar things. In average British and belarussian families there are usually two children and a pet, a cat a dog. The children go to state schools. In both countries a husband and a wife usually work. The most popular entertainment is watching TV or video and spend free time with relatives and friends. Of course there are some different things. British people go to work by car and the Byelorussians usually by bus, trolleybus, underground, and sometimes it takes them more than an hour to get to work. British and Belarusian families are much alike, but still they have several distinct features.
