The history of mankind has shown us many times that scientists and engineers made their discoveries by accident. Genial ideas visited (come to) them not while they were thinking about the problem, but during rest or sleep. Mendeleev saw his chart while he was sleeping. Newton (Newton) discovered the law of universal gravitation, when he was sitting under a tree and an apple fell on his head. Archimedes discovered his law (Archimedes' principle) while taking a bath. Hubert Booth invented the vacuum cleaner when he was working in a restaurant. Alexander Bell invented the telephone when he conducted an experiment and accidentally spilled acid. Of course, before that, they all worked very hard, thought, read and experimented.
