Past continuous

START

I was driving to work

when I saw a man by the side of the road

he was holding a radio and dancing

I was watching him dance when

he shouted to me

What are you looking at?

the man was smiling and holding out his

hands

he looked very happy to see me

I was getting back into my car

when I heard a strange noise

when my car broke down

he was wearing a bright yellow jumper

I didn’t know what to do

then I saw a man walking towards me

Hey! Are you OK?

I didn’t know what to say, so I smiled

I was putting out my hand, to shake his,

when he suddenly hugged me

it was coming from the engine of my car

and he wasn’t moving

smoke was coming out of the back of the car

it didn’t look broken

I walked towards the man and shouted

then I noticed he was breathing

I was looking into his face

and said ‘Hello my friend!’

I was very surprised and asked

my mobile phone was ringing

I stopped my car and got out

a bicycle was lying in the grass

it looked very expensive

the sun was shining so

I wanted to see if he was hurt, so

he wasn’t wearing any shoes

when he sat up and said

Who are you?
