Technology is the creation, modification, use of tools, machines, methods, systems, methods of an organization in order to solve a problem, improve the solution of a problem, achieve a goal. Technology significantly affects a person's ability to control and adapt to their natural environment.

Philosophical debates have emerged over the present and future use of technology in society, with disagreements over whether technology improves or worsens the human condition.

There are movements that criticize the ubiquity of technology in the modern world, believing that it harms the environment and alienates people. There are movements that view ongoing technological progress as beneficial to society. Until recently, it was believed that the development of technology is inherent in humans, but recent scientific research shows that primates and some dolphin communities have developed simple tools and learned to pass on their knowledge to other generations.

The use of the term technology has changed significantly over the past 200 years. Until the 20th century, the term was a rarity in the English language. This term has often been associated with technical education.

"Technology" became famous in the 20th century. The meaning of technology changed in the early 20th century, when American sociologists, translated ideas from German.

Today, technology can be most broadly defined as entities created by applying mental and physical effort to achieve a certain value.

The word "technology" can also be used to refer to a set of technologies. In this context, it is the current state of humanity's knowledge of how to pool resources to produce desired products, solve problems, meet needs, or meet needs.

The distinction between science, engineering, and technology is not always clear. Science is the reasoned research or study of phenomena, using the scientific method. Technology is usually not exclusively a product of science. Engineering is a purposeful process of designing and creating tools and systems to use natural phenomena for practical human purposes, often (but not always) using the results and methods of science. The development of technology can draw on many areas of knowledge, including scientific, engineering, mathematical, linguistic, and historical knowledge, to achieve a certain practical result.
