Version 1.00a 19-Apr-2006

MIPI Alliance Standard for DSI

895One application for multiple channels is a high-resolution display using two or more separate driver ICs on

896a single display module. Each driver IC addresses only a portion of the columns on the display device.

897Each driver IC captures and displays only the packet contents targeted for that driver and ignores the other

898packets. See Figure 14.

9018.6.1 Interleaved Data Streams and Bi-directionality

902When multiple peripherals have bidirectional capability there shall be a clear and unambiguous means for

903returning READ data, events and status back to the host processor from the intended peripheral. The

904combination of BTA and the Virtual Channel ID ensures no confusion over which peripheral is expected to

905respond to any request from the peripheral.

906A consequence of bidirectionality is any transmission from the host processor shall contain no more than

907one packet requiring a peripheral response. This applies regardless of the number of peripherals that may be

908connected via the Link to the host processor.

9098.7 Processor to Peripheral Direction (Processor-Sourced) Packet Data Types

910The set of transaction types sent from the host processor to a peripheral, such as a display module, are

911shown in Table 16.
