3. Describe the advantages/disadvantagesof living on island.

THE POSITIVES SIDES OF LIVING ON AN ISLAND THE LANDSCAPES ARE PARADISIAC

The best part of the island life is that the landscapes are gorgeous and various. most of the time, you have beautiful beaches, lagoons, hills, waterfalls, or volcanos to explore, depending on which island you are going to live on. You will have the impression to be always on vacation.

THE WEATHER IS AMAZING

The temperature is around 20° all year and even winter is like spring! Even during winter, you can swim, the water is still warm. The sun is here almost all year.

THE ACTIVITIES TO DO ARE AWESOME

The activities to do on an island are amazing. There are gorgeous spots for snorkeling and diving. If we love the ocean and marine animals, we will love spending your weekend looking for turtles, sharks, and rays! We can also do skydiving above lagoons, kitesurf, paddle and so on and admiring beautiful beaches.

LIVE A RELAXING AND SIMPLE LIFE FAR FROM THE STRESS OF BIG CITIES

Many people who want to move on an island are looking for a “simple life“, far from the stress of big cities. But also, be closer to nature.

NEGATIVES ASPECTS TO LIVE ON AN ISLAND EVERYTHING IS MORE EXPENSIVE

I think it’s depending on which island you are going to live, but for most of the islands, everything is more expensive because everything is imported. And if we want to order on the internet, we will have to pay a tax.

THERE ARE CYCLONIC PERIOD AND RAIN SEASONS

For most of the islands, there are cyclonic periods, and some islands are unfortunately more propitious to natural disasters (tsunami, heartquake…)

Also, there is a rainy season for several months, so be prepared to find interior activities.

4. Give advise to your friend on how to prepare for travelling abroad.

I know that I have been ignoring you lately and have not written to you for a long time, but now I am feeling driven to sit down and drop you a few lines to help you with your travelling preparations.

First of all it’s very important to learn a foreign language before travelling. If you speak the language of the country, you can feel more confident. You don’t feel helpless and lost even if you are not fluent in the given language. English always comes in handy.

Before travelling you should check the weather conditions so you can decide what to pack in and you can choose the right programs.

It’s advisable to check your own documents (E.g.: ID card, passport, visa and social insurance card). If they aren’t valid, you will have to get new ones.

I recommend to you to take travel insurance. It is important to be insured when you travel abroad, because various unexpected events can disturb your holidays. You luggage might get lost or stolen, you might have an accident you might lose your money and documents and you might get ill.

If you go abroad, you should be exchange currency in your country. So you don’t have waste your time getting the proper currency abroad.

In my opinion it’s needed to book some accommodation in advance. You can book a room in several ways. You can phone the place, you can find addresses and descriptions of the place on the internet too. You can send a letter of reservation either by post or by email. You can turn to travel agencies, which organise everything for you.

I have to mention, that you can spend your time more effectively if you organise your program in advance. You can buy a guidebook so you can get to know the place where you are going.

Don’t travel abroad without finding somebody to look after your house and your pets.

I’m sure you will have a great time and you won’t have to worry about anything abroad if you take my advice.

That’s all for now. Take care

With all my due respect, I am writing this letter to make complain about your service. Upon asking your member responded us in a very unprofessional way which I felt was humiliating. The rooms were on twin sharing but 2 nights we 4 persons were accommodated in a single room. 10. Describe, compare and contrast the life in the past and now.

Obviosuly things have differed greatly between past and present in many aspects of life, and this difference has caused the development of human civilization and the changing forms and patterns of life. While some people view this difference as positive, some argue that it is necessary to return to the values of society and its customs that are so lacking in contemporary life Differences between past and present life

There are very clear differences between past and present life including

The technological side ; Life in ancient times lacked the tools of technology that man knew in modern times, so people's lives were difficult and difficult in many ways. In traveling, people traveled from country to country using camels, and at home people used simple primitive tools to set fire to the food. In today's world, people are competing in the use of technology in all aspects of their private and public life. In people's homes you find most tools that make it easier for people to live and get away from hardship, shorten time, effort and money. From one place to another thousands of miles away in a few hours.

Communication and communication between people ; After people in the past found it difficult to communicate with each other, communication tools developed in the modern era, with people connecting without obstacles, temporary barriers, or space, thanks to the web that connected people to each other and allowed them to communicate in all its forms Audio and video.

Customs and traditions ; The difference between the customs and traditions of the people in our present day than ever before. This difference has caused the world to become a small village where everyone is influenced by the beliefs and ideas of the other easier than before. In the past, societies could close themselves and retain their social and cultural heritage. The television channels, the media and the different media have penetrated people into their homes and imposed on them the knowledge of the culture of the other and thus the possibility of being affected negatively or positively.

The shape of contemporary life ; Contemporary life has taken on different lifestyles. For example, people used to gather around a single table. Recently, life has become a consumerism that focuses on satisfying material needs rather than satisfying spiritual needs and self-affirmation.

In conclusion, people today have more comfortable and easier lives than in the past. This is the results of technological developments and the extra leisure

time available. These factors will make our live even more comfortable in the future.

11. Make a list of jobs, suggesting skills and qualities needed for these jobs, giving reasons.

Obviously, different skills and qualities are required for each job, and each person has different abilities. Some jobs require more skills, while some require less. But regardless, each work area has different properties. For example

Business / Administrative Jobs: To excel in the business world, professionals must demonstrate aptitude in important business skills including communication, finance, delegation, and soft skills.

Creative / Media Industry Jobs like:

Photographer- a photographer must have Attention to Detail-Photographers need to have good attention to detail when taking photographs – they need to be able to capture light and color and think carefully about all components of each image.

Police – a police officer must have:

Communication Skills -The ability to communicate effectively is an absolute must for a police officer, especially when dealing with members of the public. In potentially unsafe situations, for example, such as when apprehending a potentially armed and/or dangerous suspect, police need to be firm and clear in your instructions.

12. Compare, contrast different ways of learning.

There is no best way to learn. Everyone learns differently, and because of this, the best way to learn is the way you learn. A learning style is a certain way that the mind receives and processes new information. There are many different approaches to learning, but the three main styles are visual, auditory, and tactile.

Visual learning style is a style in which the information is visualized in the mind's eye. Most visual learners prefer reading and watching. They find it easier to visualize information rather than hear about it. Visual learners prefer to use graphs and charts also, so they can see what is happening or being taught. Auditory learning style is the style that favors listening. Rather than read about something, these learners prefer to listen. Auditory learners also like to listen to lectures and class discussions. This is because it is easier for them to take in information this way.

The final style of learning is tactile. Tactile learning style is a style that involves learning by touching or doing things. Tactile learners may find it easier to make a model rather than just read or look at the book. Tactile learners prefer touching the information by being creative. I feel that I am mainly a visual learner. In many of my classes, especially math and science, I need a textbook in order to follow along. It is easier for me to learn by seeing examples written clearly and step-by-step, rather than to hear an instructor tell me each step. I also study by writing out notes or making study cards. It's harder for me to learn by listening only because my mind often wanders and I don't pay attention. It is also harder for me to learn through experimentation because I get bored and I don't finish the project.

13. You go on holiday. Make a list of things you take with you, Give reasons.

Planning a trip is not difficult, if you know the essential items, you need to bring. Clothes and food are a necessity in order to have a fun trip. The most important thing to bring is money. Other stuff is also needed, but these are the top things to consider when packing for a trip.

The first step is to pick clothes. This is easy, if you know the type of weather in your vacationing spot. Light clothing is the best attire for a summer

trip, and clothes such as sweaters are the more suitable for cold places. Most importantly, you need to know the certain type of garments that ought to be brought like interior clothes, shirts, and pants. You need to bring a sufficient amount of clothes.

Secondly, food is very important when considering a trip. Without food it is impossible to drive safely and focus on where you are going. Choosing the right food is an important decision, because you have limited space and need to choose wisely what you are going to bring. It is better to bring cans that are lightweight and durable. Other types of foods are too complicated to travel with because they need refrigeration and a lot of space.

Lastly, money is the main component when traveling. It can help you in any situation. Without it, a vacation trip is impossible to achieve. It can replace anything lost and help you incase your car breaks down. Depending on the length of the trip, certain amounts of cash are needed. It is always helpful to have a large sum with you, in case of any unexpected emergencies. To get money, you can borrow from a friend or relative. If that is not and option, banks are willing to lend money with certain restrictions.

14. Speak about people, harming the environment.

For several thousands of years, humans and other living species have coexisted together, but as the human population continues to dramatically increase, the need for an extraneous amount of resources does as well. Over the past two decades, the human impact on wildlife is easily seen worldwide. Forests have been diminishing at an alarming rate. Deforestation is becoming more of a problem each day. Due to deforestation, biodiversity is decreasing, habitats are being severely polluted, and inhabitants of the forest are being forced out of their comfort zone. This issue often goes unnoticed because humans are so caught up in their everyday lives. Many people support only what is best for humans in their lifetime and don’t look at the bigger picture. People fail to consider how their actions affect not only plants and animals in their ecosystem, but future generations as well. Throughout the years we have harmed and destroyed forest ecosystems and everything that lives in them, so it is only fair that we do everything we can to help limit the amount of damage we deal to our forests and wildlife.

15. Recommend the film to watch, Give reasons.

Alice in Wonderland Fantasy, Adventure; 2010

Alice Kingsleigh was a young girl when she first visited the Underworld. Now she is 19 years old but everything she saw before, lives in her dreams as nightmares. Her life takes a turn for the unexpected when she recognises a peculiar white rabbit running through the shrubs the day she was getting

proposed, and decides to chase it. Suddenly she falls inside a hole under a tree that takes her directly to Wonderland. Now she has to find out what her true faith is.

Personally, I love this film because I was used to watch it everyday in my childhood. The actors make a great performance in their roles such as Johnny Depp as the Mad Hutter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Res Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

I highly recommend this cartoon if you like fantasy , because I think it provides a very good experience, not only for kids but for adults as well.

III. Vocabulary and Grammar
