He was an English writer, poet, philologist, best known as the author of the classic fantasy works: The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion. The main idea of these books is checking up by the power.
At school days he founded the philological club. In December 1910 Tolkien goes to Oxford. When he was 33 he became the youngest professor of university. Tolkien was the professor of the Anglo-Saxon and English languages.
His debut was The fairy tale «Hobbit»
This book was published in 1937; it was translated into Russian in 1976.
It is story about a kind and brave hobbit. He is small but real hero. Bilbo and 13 dwarfs are going to kill the dragon...
«Hobbit» was very successful it was read by children and grown-ups.

“The lord of rings” is one of the most famous and most popular books of the XX century. It is translated into 38 languages. “The lord of rings” is one of the best fantasy books. There are a lot of computer games and films. It consists of three parts: “The fellowship of ring”, “Two fortresses” and “The return of king”.
Tolkien was the author of many idioms.
