Evolution of Windows OS
Evolution of Windows. Everything began with DOS - from the simple blue screen and white letters. Probably, and still this system remained the fastest and reliable, in it was a maximum of communication with the hardware component and a minimum of visual effects. But it was not too functional therefore different versions began to appear: first Windows 1.01, then "advanced" Windows 2.03. On the first desktop PCs soon began to appear Windows 95, then Windows 98. Strongly I made a noise with Windows Millenium from which much was expected, and zatemwindows Vista which got into the same situation. Windows 7 is considered rather stable and user-friendly system for today, and it is difficult not to agree with it.
We will consider 3 main stages of evolution Windowsbolee explicitly:
The first evolution of Windows (1985-1995), began with a file manager (so-called MS-DOS a jacket which was Shell) with division into two separate windows. There was also a print manager and a control bar.
The first Windows versions were not full-fledged operating systems, and were superstructures to the MS-DOSI operating system were in fact multifunction extension, adding support of new operation modes of the processor, a multitasking support, providing to standartizatsiyuinterfeysovapparatny support and uniformity the dlyapolzovatelskikh интерфейсовпрограмм. Provided built in sredstvagdi3iuserdlya the sozdaniyagrafichesky interface of the user. The first Windows versions generally consisted of three modules - KERNEL, GDI and USER. The first of them provided memory management calls, start of .EXE-files and loading of .DLL-files, the second - to a diagram, the third - windows. They worked with processors since Intel8086.
To the first Windowsotnosyat versions:
Windows 1.0(1985);
Windows 2.0(1987);
Windows 2.1 (Windows 386, 1987) - in system appeared a possibility of start of DOS applications in graphic windows, and complete 640 KB of memory were provided to each application. Complete support protsessora80286. There was a support protsessorov80386.
Windows 3.0(1990) - is improved support protsessorov80386i a protect mode.
Windows 3.1(1992) - seriously processed Windows 3.0; UAE are removed (Unrecoverable Application Errors - fatal errors of application programs), it is added mekhanizmole, the printing in REZHIMEWYSIWYG ("that you see, receive"), shriftytruetype, an izmenyonprovodnik (the manager of files), dobavlenymultimediynyefunktion.
Windows for the working groups (Windows for Workgroups, WfWG) 3.1/3.11 - the first version of OS of family with support of local area networks. In WfWG 3.11 the separate enhancements of a kernel applied later in Windows 95 were also tested.
Second evolution of Windows (1995-2012)
The second evolution of Windows brought to Microsoft the greatest success. All basic elements which Microsoft provided to Windows 95 still remain fundamental parts of the user interface even in Windows 7. The desktop in Windows 95 consisted from my computer, the Networked environment (it is renamed into "Networked environment" in 2000, and then just "Network" in Windows Vista) and a basket. The second key element of the user interface which was added to Windows 95 which exists still and is on a task bar. In it there is a Start-up button, programs which work both a task bar and hours now. Transferred quick start of programs to a task bar and also the keyboard layout pattern switch, the concept did not change with Windows 95 to Windows Vista. In Windows 7 for the first time the design was really changed. The Start menu I was the 3rd main part GUI4 which was added to Windows 95 and exists still in Windows 7. Though, and Start-up is not similar today to the simple menu which I debuted in Windows 95, but it still supports those, the concepts lying in it to list all programs, documents and setup of the computer and also the place where you can look for files, receive the help and switch off the computer. Finally all additional concepts and programs which Microsoft bought together in Windows 95, including baskets, Windows Explorer, long names of files (255 signs instead of 11), design to Contract, Unroll / Recover and Close the Ctrl+Alt+Del buttons to close the hung-up programs and many other all this thanks to Windows 95. Many things changed in Windows, since 1995, but the considerable changes were not.
Speaking about Windowsne it is worth forgetting about operating systems semeystvawindowsnt. Operating systems of this family work on processors with arkhitekturamikh86, x64, iitanium, ARM now. Early versions (to 4.0 inclusively) also supported nekotoryerisc-protsessory:alpha, MIPS, ipower PC. All operating systems of this family are completely 32-or 64-bit operating systems, and do not need to a VMS-Dosdazha for loading
Windows Operating System was launched in 1985 by Microsoft and since then it has been the most popular and user friendly operating system. It was the first Graphical User Interface operating system launched by Microsoft for IBM compatible PCs which were using MS-DOS. Soon the Windows OS started to dominate the operating system market by overtaking its competitor Mac OS which was launched in 1984. The main advantage of Windows OS is that it is user-friendly. It created a certain type of revolution in desktop computers allowing an average user access the PC without any complexities. Windows OS provided handful of productive tools such as Microsoft Office that have made computers very useful. The first Windows launched in 1985 was Windows 1.0. Later many versions were released such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and the latest sensational version is Windows 8.
Let us go through the various versions of Windows Operating System……
