Thank you for taking the time to write us as you did on October 1. We know it must have been a disappointment to have received the box of chocolate in damaged condition. Our guess is that the damage occurred in transit. You do not need to do anything about the parcel post claim; we will take care of that here.

We mailed a new five-pound box to you today and trust that this one will arrive safely. We are proud of Sweet Savage Chocolate's candies and want our customers to be completely satisfied. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We took delivery of this vehicle yesterday and on closer examination our driver has reported a leak of hydraulic fluid and a deflated spare tyre. I take a poor view of this situation as you customarily assure us that you give your vehicles a rigorous predelivery check.

Could you rectify these matters before the weekend as the vehicle is urgently required for delivery work?
