Gas and Gas Supply Engineering

I am a third-year student of Ufa Fuel Power college. My future speciality is gas engineering. I would like to tell you about my future profession.

Gas engineering (or gas technology) is a scientific subject and a branch of engineering embracing the gas generation methods, gas transformation, gas distribution, gas transmission and so on.

Oil and natural gas still remain one of the key sources of energy. Efficient recovery of these resources requires gas and petroleum engineers with a sound knowledge of fundamentals and latest technological developments relevant to this field.

T aking into consideration the fact that oil and gas has always been big business in Russia, but lately the demand for skilled workers in the petroleum and gas industry is higher than it’s ever been before.

Part of the reason is that there are only a handful of colleges and universities in The Russian Federation that offer programs specifically designed to prepare students to work in the oil and gas industry. One of those rare schools is Ufa Fuel Power college. I am very proud to study in the college which ʺover than 60 years has been preparing students for careers in the oil and gas industry and is recognized not only in the republic of Bashkortostan, but also state-wide as a specialized training collegeʺ, says the Minister of education of the republic Shaficova Gulnaz Radmilovna.

I would like to work at a thermal power plant as a technician after graduating from the college and to continue my education at the State Oil Technical University to be an engineer.
