Case study
Everyone know what is internship, but I can’t say that every person understands the meaning of internship. You can say that it’s easy or you can say that it’s difficult, someone can say that it’s normal or average. Is it true? Of course, no. Why? Because internship is the process of feedback, it’s reciprocal learning. Student teaches pupil, student becomes a teacher and pupil become a student, they start to understand each other and find a mutual road of learning process. I can describe many situations from my own and my friends’ experiences. Imagination is a key to avoid extremes when you are not ready for the lesson or you have a spontaneous lesson, it’s the key to open new horizons and find benefits in every situation. Imagination is power. It is useful and important.
I
remember having a spontaneous (not planned and not researched) lesson
on Mark Twain. I was clueless and excited, because at that moment I
didn’t have any information about him. However I wasn’t
frustrated, I used my imagination and a little slyness. So I let
students to use their mobile phones and find information about
author, I divided children in three groups and told them to use
information to create questions. Their questions were very simple,
they didn’t try to make anything new, but while they were
researching I had time to scrutinize information about Mark Twain
and then we had a good discussion, I started from simple questions
and went on to difficult ones, then I received their feedback. How
did imagination help me? Do you want to know what role plays
imagination? So look at the scheme
Tips
I
magination
is limitless. I can say, that I am imaginative person, however you
can say that it isn’t apparent from my appearance. Of course, it is
invisible, because imagination is a process which takes place in our
mind and then transmits to souls. But what can we do if we don’t
have imagination, if we need it, but we can’t come up with creative
ideas. Is it possible to develop imagination? Why not? Every person
can make mistakes and every person can lose confidence, in that very
situations imagination just dissolves as foam. But don’t worry,
because we have some tips for boosting imagination.
Find inspiration
Smile every time, smile in your classroom and never forget that you are teacher not a perfect robot. In classroom, you are a leader and your students are candles ready to be ignited, they need your help. If you don’t have imagination and also inspiration for imaginarium, make a little discussion about real life situations for five minute. If you want to be ready for moments of anti-imagination:
Prepare different figures like triangle, star, heart and etc.
Write favorite things of teenagers and adults in these figures
Draw a big circle and write the theme of your unit
Explain the theme and give exercises to children
When they’ve finished, invite them to the board and give the task to write one word to expand this circle
When you will have a big circle, which is full with no place to write, imagine that it isn’t a circle, imagine it’s a city and you are going to build a house of your dreams. Destroy all written words like houses in the city of your imagination and build new ones, every student wrote just one word, it’s like a one element of holistic thing. What is the role of teacher and what is the role of imagination? Imagination can help students understand that they can’t build a house if they only have one element, and teacher can help students understand it.
