Dear Students, do any FIVE tasks from this list during the semester, and you won’t have to do the Writing Paper at the final test. Choose from the list:

1 Student’s book writing

1. Write a description of someone you know (a friend of yours, a member of your family etc.) in about 200 words. Include the following:

-your opinion of the person

-physical description

-their character, habits, likes and dislikes.

2. Choose one of the most famous writers, painters or musicians in your country or abroad and write about him/her (about 200 words). Include the following:

-what do you know about his/ her life

-what works do you know?

-do you like his/ her work? Why? Why not?

3. Write the story of your best/ worst holiday in about 250 words.

-when was it?

-where was it?

-who were you with?

-why was it good/bad?

4. Write about a favorite thing of yours (book, band, style of music, sport, hobby, place, musician, painting, room, food etc.) Write a description of the thing and give reasons why you like it (about 250 words).

Write a letter to Elizabeth. In your letter:

-answer her questions

-ask 3 questions about her birthday this year.

You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Mary who writes:

My aunt lives in Arkansas and last week her house was ruined by a tornado. What do you think are the most horrible natural disasters? Which of them are typical of the place where you live? What can people do to protect themselves from them?

My history teacher got the annual award “Best teacher of the year”, I’m so happy for her! …

Write a letter to Mary. In your letter:

You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Nancy who writes:

… This year we had a school costume party for Halloween. It was a big success. What costume would you fancy wearing to a costume party? What would you rather do: make a costume yourself or buy one, and why? What do you think of costume parties in general?

Our history teacher is taking us to a museum for a field trip next week…
