Непроизносимые буквы

Необходимо отметить, что в английском языке существует ряд слов, в которых, независимо от положения в начале или конце, некоторые согласные становятся «немыми», то есть не произносятся. Ниже приведена таблица данных согласных.

Различия в чтении глаголов и существительных

Некоторые двусложные слова имеют одинаковую форму для существительного и глагола. Разница в чтении обусловлена частью речи, которую выполняет данное слово в предложении. Имя существительное читается с ударением на первый слог, а глагол – на второй.
