Lesson 15

9. Listen to the text and do the task.

We have a flat rather far from the centre of the city. It is in a new sixteen-storey building in Savinov Street. As there are so many storeys in the building it has two lifts.

Our flat is on the sixth floor. It has all modern conveniences such as central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, and a chute.

There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat.

The living room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. To the right of the door there is a sofa, a coffee table and two arm-chairs. Near the window there is a TV-set and a wardrobe. At the opposite wall there is a piano with a piano stool before it. The walls of the living room are light-green and there are a few pictures and family photos on them. Nothing is more pleasant in rainy weather than to sit in a comfortable armchair and read a book.

The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in

it. Here we have two beds with wall lamps, a wardrobe, a thick carpet and light-blue curtains.

The third room is the nursery. There is no place for two beds, so we have a bunch-bed here, a desk and a few shelves with lots of books and toys. The room is often cluttered with things, but children like to be here.
