The rf president duties and responsibilies

  1. The current President of Russia is Vladimir Putin.

  2. He was elected for a six-year term of office.

  3. The President of the Russian Federation is the head of state, Supreme Commander-in-chief and holder of the highest office within the Russian Federation. 

The u.S. Political system

  1. The capital of the USA is Washington, D.C.

  2. It was the world’s first city especially planned as a centre of government.

  3. The city of Washington is the capital of a federal union of 50 states.

  4. When the United States declared its independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, there were 13 original states.

  5. Under the Constitution, the federal government is divided into three branches.

  6. The President heads the executive branch.

  7. All legislative powers are vested in Congress, which consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

  8. There are 100 senators and 435 members in the House of Representatives.

  9. The judicial branch is made up of Federal District Courts, 11 Federal Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

  10. The Supreme Court may declare the law, passed by the Congress.

  11. The various states have legislative and executive bodies of their own.

  12. Their competence and functions are determined by the Constitution of each state.

  13. The Constitution of the United States established the country’s political system and is basis for its laws.

The u.S. Constitution

  1. The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the United States of America.

  2. The U.S. Constitution established America’s national government and fundamental laws, and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens.

  3. It was signed on September 17, 1787, by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, presided over by George Washington. 

  4. Ten of these amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified and became part of the Constitution on December 10, 1791.

  5. The Bill of Rights guarantees individuals certain basic protections as citizens, including freedom of speech, religion and the press; the right to bear and keep arms; the right to peaceably assemble; protection from unreasonable search and seizure; and the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury.

  1. The capital of the U.K. is London.

  2. The United Kingdom of Great Britain is a constitutional monarchy.

  3. The head of state is the Queen or King.

  4. The Queen reigns but doesn’t rule.

  5. The power of the Queen of Great Britain is not absolute.

  6. Her powers are limited by the Parliament.

  7. The organs of government are the legislative, the executive and the judiciary.

  8. The legislature, Parliament, is the supreme authority.

  9. It comprises two chambers – the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

  10. The executive consists of the central Government – that is the Prime Minister and Cabinet and other ministers.

  11. The judiciary determines common law and interprets status.

  12. In Great Britain there is no written constitution, only statutes, customs, traditions and precedents.

  13. There are three main political parties in Great Britain: the Labour, the Conservative, the Liberal.
