Task II. Translate the sentences into Russian:

1. The chairman of the board of directors may or may not have the most actual executive authority in a firm.

2. We may have to bring extra workers in to help us with this big job.

3. Hyperscan entered the Large Unit sector causing prices and profits there to slump.

4. The result was the deterioration in Visitron's trading position.

5. Visitron should target the European Small Unit sector as its major growth area.

6. That should be done in collaboration with the third competitor in the market.

Task III. Translate the sentences into English:

1. Наша цель - избежать ухудшения позиции компании.

2. Если цены на нашу продукцию будут продолжать падать, нам грозит крушение.

3. На рынке c такой жесткой конкуренцией необходимо сотрудничество с сильным партнером.

4. Исполнительный директор одобрил предложение казначея о переносе в новое место с целью экономии средств.

5. Я считаю, что именно этот сектор рынка должен стать основной сферой нашего развития.

6. В нынешнем году деятельность отдела исследования и развития оставляет желать лучшего.

7. Председателем совета директоров стал Патрик Блэк.

8. Другими членами совета директоров были назначены Шейла Лавгуд, казначей, и Ричард Крупер, директор отдела исследований и разработок.

9. Это шаг, который придал бы Визитрону гораздо большее значение на предстоящих переговорах.

10. Нам необходимо активизировать продажи в секторе больших сканеров повсюду в Европе.
