Упражнение 1-1. Напишите во множественном числе.

A boy, a toy, a car, a thing, a room, a book, a hat, a sweet, a stamp, a coat, a watch, a fox, a dish, a place, a glass, a cherry, a story, a century, a hero, a piano; a fish, a sheep, a deer, a series, a species; a man, a woman, a foot, a tooth, a child, a mouse, a person.

Упражнение 1-2. Переведите следующие существительные на английский язык и образуйте множественное число

волк, герой, жена, ключ, книжная полка, лист, месяц, нож, олень, почтальон, ребёнок, ступня, человек, мужчина, ящик

Упражнение 1-3. Образуйте новые существительные с помощью суффиксов “-ment”, “-ness”, “-ist”, “-ant”. Переведите эти существительные на русский язык.

Model: to employ - employment; to type - typist.

Appoint, move, enjoy, defend, mad, science, advertise, judge, entertain, govern, develop, improve, material.

Упражнение 1-4. Поставьте следующие существительные в предложениях во множественном числе. Перепишите ваш вариант. При этом обратите внимание на изменения в форме глагола.

1. A new house is in our street. 2. This story is very interesting. 3. There was a woman, a man, a boy and a girl in the room. 4. In the farm-yard we could see an ox, a sheep, a cow and a goose. 5. Put this knife on that table. 6. Why don’t you eat this potato? 7. This strawberry is still green. 8. A yellow leaf has fallen to the ground. 9. Can you see a bird in that tree? 10. Unit 2. Притяжательный падеж существительных. Словообразование.

Упражнение 2-1. Замените существительные с предлогом «of» существительными в притяжательном падеже.

Model: the name of my friend - my friend's name.

A meeting of students, the flat of my mother-in-law, the house of his parents, the clothes of the children, the fur of the fox, the end of the year.

Упражнение 2-2. Вставьте s или s’ там, где это необходимо.

1. This is John ... dog. 2. This is David... and Al... dog. 3. My cousin... birthday is in June. I'll give him a kitten as a present. 4. She has got two brothers. Her brother... room is on the right. 5. She has got a brother and a sister. Her brother is a teacher from London. 6.What is your sister... name? 7. The Brown... pet is very nice. 8. These are my friends. The boy... grandmother works in a hospital. 9. I have got an aunt and an uncle. My uncle... friend works in Birmingham.10. I like Mary... and Bob... grandmother.

Упражнение 2-3. Образуйте новые существительные с помощью суффиксов “-еr” и "-or” и используйте их в своих предложениях.

Упражнение 2-4. Примените притяжательный падеж существительных по образцу:

1. The toy of their children. 2. The questions of my son. 3. The wife of my brother. 4. The table of our teacher. 5. The life of animals. 6. The voice of this girl. 7. The new tool of the workers. 8.
