There are lots of cat breeds nowadays. The smallest among them is considered to be the Singapura. A cat of this breed is listed as the world's smallest domesticated cat in the Guinness Book of World Records. They are believed to have originated in Singapore. It is said that in 1975, three of these cats were found in the streets of Singapore and brought to the United States by Tommy and Hal Meadow. Now, Singapura cats are popular across the globe. They are very cute, friendly and calm. So, they are highly valued as pets not only in the USA but all over the world.
Generally, cats are the most popular house pets. They outnumber dogs probably because they are easier to take care of. In the UK, about twenty five percent of houses have at least one pet cat.
