Instructional Guidelines
for bachelor graduation project execution
Izhevsk, 2016
1. Requirements for bachelor graduation project content and defense procedure.
The number of drawings for defense should be at least 6-8 sheets (drawings, graphs, charts, formulas, tables). Drawings are submitted to the A1 format sheets and should comply with the State Standards of Russia. Tables and graphs can be represented to the members of the Defense Committee in the form of handouts.
Defense stages:
Report of Secretary of the Defense Committee about topic of graduation project, supervisor, reviewer and author of project (name, group);
Presentation of review;
Presentation of supervisor response;
Report of author about content of graduation project and main conclusions (may be accompanied by a presentation made in a PowerPoint limited to 10 minutes). The report should begin with relevance of the topic. After relevance should state the purpose of the work and solved problems (directly on the text of the project). Then talk turns on the solved problems - mainly the originality of the results obtained by the author. At the end of the report should be represented the results (directly on the text of the project).
Questions of the Defense Committee members, tutors, and answers to the questions posed in the review. It is given 10 minutes for questions and answers;
Graduation projects defense procedure is carried out in the presence of all persons who interested in.
The decision of the project defense procedure results is taking out by of the Defense Committee members at an executive session. If it is appropriate, the estimation and the adoption of recommendations are taking out too.
After an executive session, the head of the Defense Committee informs students of the decision, including the assessment of the projects and reads recommendations (if it’s needed).
2. Guidelines on the content of bachelor graduation project
Bachelor graduation project consists of a number of core sections (Table 2.1.).
Title page;
The title page should be made in a standard form, fully completed and signed by the author, supervisor, the consultants and the head of the department.
List of contents;
Introduction;
Sections with the main results; each section should ends with conclusions summarizing the results of this stage of project and specifying the tasks and methods of its solutions in the following sections.
Conclusion;
Bibliography;
Applications;
