    1. 4.1 Economic efficiency

    2. 4.1 Economic efficiency

2.1 The term economic efficiency

The term economic efficiency refers to the use of resources in order to maximize the production of goods and services. An economic system is said to be more efficient than another one if it can provide more goods and services for society without using more resources.

An important role in overall efficiency the economic system is the efficiency of capital investments. It is measured by the set of indicators, which includes the overall effect of capital investment, the rate of return, payback period, the comparative effectiveness and others that are used to compare alternative investment projects and choosing the best project.

Payback period (PP) is the period of time, which is necessary to return all invested resources for the product. It is an important determinant of whether to undertake the position or project, as longer payback periods are typically not desirable for investment positions.

Together with the net present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR) payback period is used as a tool of evaluating investments. These indicators tell us about how effective to apply the developed software product and how much we save from its use.

    1. 4.2 Calculating of the developed program cost

2.2 Calculating of the developed program cost

The economical part of diploma project includes the calculations of cost estimates for designing the product and cost-effectiveness of the developed software system. The estimated finances include the following:

  • Cost of materials (hardware and software);

  • Cost of wages;

  • Cost of maintenance and operation of the equipment;

  • Other financial costs.

    1. 4.3 Calculation of material costs

2.3 Calculation of material costs

There were used different types of software and hardware components in our research. Unity3D is the development platform for creating multiplatform 3D and 2D games and interactive experiences. It costs 75$ per month. The program have been developed during 2 months, so the total software cost is $150 (49 800 KZT).

Overall hardware costs that were used during system implementation are presented below in the Table 2.1:

    1. 4.4 Calculation of the developer’s salary

2.4 Calculation of the developer’s salary

The basic wage of the developer is calculated from the base salary (Table 2.2), as well as from the duration of individual stages of work in the development of software system.

The average number of working days in a month is 24 days.

The system was developed during the period of 2 months, and total working day of the developer is 28 days.

Additional monthly fee is charged at the rate of 20% from basic salary and is calculated by formula (4.1):
