Exercise 36. Imagine that rich and very famous, you return to your hometown after 30

years. A lot of things have changed. Make sentences using Present Perfect

Passive to say what is different.

Ex.: The Grad Café (to turn) into a casino. – The Grand Café has been turned into a casino.

Exercise 37. Passive Simple, Passive Perfect.

Complete the text with the verbs in brackets, putting them in the correct

passive form and retell the text.

I’ll never forget my first day at that office. I _________(to tell) to arrive at 8.00, but when I got there the whole place seemed to be empty. I didn’t know what to do, because I _________ (to give) no information about the building or where I was going to work, so I just waited until some of the secretaries began to turn up. Finally I _________ (to show) to a dirty little office on the fifth floor, where I _________ (to give) a desk in the corner. Nothing happened for an hour; then I _________(to give) some letters to type on a computer by one of senior secretaries. This wasn’t very successful, because I ________ (not to teach) how to use the computer.

Exercise 38. Imagine that you’re a production manager holding a meeting of your team the

day before shooting. Using Present Perfect Passive ask your team members if

everything is ready for shooting.

Exercise 41. Board game for two or more players.

Rules:

  1. Each player chooses a token and places it on “Start”.

  2. Roll a dice and move your token accordingly.

  3. Once you land on a square, do the task specified on it.

  4. If you can’t do the task, move your token one square back and do that task.

  5. The winner is the player who is the first to reach “Finish”.
