1. Лексичний матеріал до теми «Родина».

1) Учитель пише на дошці слова: mother, grandma, brother, aunt, grandpa, sister, cousin,

father, son, daughter, uncle. Читає вголос, пояснюючи слова aunt, uncle і cousin:

— aunt is your mother’s sister or your father’s sister;

— uncle is your mother’s brother or your father’s brother;

— cousin is your aunt’s son or daughter or your uncle’s son or daughter.

2) Потім учитель просить учнів розподілити слова на дві групи, залежно від їхнього ро-

ду — males and females:

T: Divide the words into two groups: males (men and boys) and females (women and girls).

What word can be both male and female?

Відповідь на запитання — cousin. Це слово треба записати в обидва стовпчики.

3) Учні групують слова за родами.

T: Group the words in pairs male—female, for example: father—mother. Which word has

no pair?

1) Етап підготовки до читання.

T: Do you remember the Browns’ family? We met them in lessons 2—3 (тема «Introduction

»).Who is the father of the family? Who is the mother of the family?

Mr and Mrs Brown are parents. They have children. How many children have they got?

How many sons? How many daughters? What are the sons’ names? What’s the daughter’s

name?Mrs Brown has parents — father and mother. They are Bill, Tom and Kate’s grandparents

— Grandma and Grandpa. We can see their family on page 32. Point to Grandma and

Grandpa. How many children have they got? What are their names?

We have spoken about Nancy’s family, now let’s look at Polly’s family. Look at the picture

on page 32. Polly has got a husband. What’s his name? Have Mike and Polly got any

children? What are their names?Tim and Eddy are brothers. Brothers — брати, sisters — сестри. А як ми скажемо двоюрідні брати й сестри? Cousins.

Who are Tim and Eddy’s cousins? Who are Kate, Bill and Tom’s cousins?

And who is Polly for Kate, Bill and Tom? She is their aunt. Aunt — тітонька.

Polly is Kate’s aunt, Polly is Bill’s aunt and Polly is Tom’s aunt. Who is Tim and Eddy’s

aunt?Who is Mike for Kate, Bill and Tom? He is their uncle. Uncle — дядечка.

Mike is Kate’s uncle, Mike is Bill’s uncle and Mike is Tom’s uncle. Who is Tim and Eddy’s

uncle?

2) Етап читання.

T: Read the text and tell which words referring to topic «Family» we can see in the text. How

many times can we see these words: parents; mother; father; grandmother; grandfather;

son; daughter; uncle; aunt; brother; sister; cousin?

Учні про себе читають текст і відповідають на запитання вчителя. Потім хором чита-

ють текст за вчителем.

3) Етап перевірки розуміння змісту тексту.

Впр. 4 (с. 32). Учні усно по черзі читають запитання вправи і відповідають на них.
