Вступ
У сучасних умовах значно зростає значення володіння іноземною мовою фахівцями будь-якої галузі. Читання та переклад спеціальної літератури з іншомовних джерел є засобом оперативного одержання інформації, допомагає постійно підвищувати професійний рівень і самовдосконалюватись. Саме тому головним завданням викладання англійської мови в вищій школі є оволодіння студентом навичками читання наукової літератури за фахом і спілкування у професійній сфері.
Навчальний посібник розроблено відповідно до програми з англійської мови для студентів комп’ютерних спеціальностей. Головною метою посібника є навчання студентів основним видам читання літератури науково-популярного і спеціального характеру, а також умінню спілкуватися англійською мовою на професійні теми. Текстовий матеріал відповідає навчальним задачам. Науково-популярний характер більшості текстів, сучасність пропонованої в них інформації підсилює мотивацію студентів.
Навчальний посібник складається з 15 розділів, кожен з яких містить матеріал для розвитку у студентів комп’ютерних спеціальностей навичок читання, перекладу, реферування та спілкування англійською мовою у рамках спеціалізації. Урок складається з основного тексту і завдань для самостійної роботи, кожне з яких має певну мету. Запропоновані тексти з тематичним словником і комплексом лексичних вправ націлені на збагачення основного словникового запасу студентів. Тексти допомагають розвивати та вдосконалювати навички вивчаючого читання. Перевірка розуміння змісту текстів здійснюється за допомогою вправ на пошук і вибирання інформації, складання плану, тексту та ін. Кожен розділ містить проблемні завдання і теми для дискусії, які націлені на розвиток творчих здібностей студента, висловлення власної думки.
Граматичний матеріал, наданий у посібнику, є типовим для стилю науково-технічної літератури. Запропоновані граматичні вправи допомагають закріплювати знання студентів з граматики як під час роботи в аудиторії так і під час самостійної роботи. Кожен урок містить питання для самоперевірки, які допомагають студенту повторювати раніше вивчений матеріал. Основні граматичні явища розкриваються у стислому довіднику для студентів. Навчальний посібник доповнено додатками А і Б, в яких міститься список неправильних дієслів і найбільш уживаних скорочень, та англо-українським словником.
Бажаним результатом роботи з текстами навчального посібника є перехід до самостійної роботи студента з фаховими іншомовними періодичними виданнями, який сприятиме подальшому поглибленню знань і підвищенню кваліфікації у професійній сфері після закінчення курсу викладання англійської мови у вищому навчальному закладі.
