1. Practice objective

Scholastic-production practice is a part of educational process, effective form of preparing of a future doctor to professional action. Medical-prophylactic establishments must realize the practice program, have qualified personal, needed to guide & control practice. Scholastic-production practice «Assistant of a procedural nurse at Therapy department» carried out to put in order studied knowledge, know content of internal diseases, main elements & equipment for care for a patient, aseptic & antiseptic principles, emergency in acute condition of internal diseases.

2. Resulting issues of traineeship: fix skills, taken by student during studying process of a Discipline «Introduction to clinic -2», mastering the practical skills at procedure room of Therapy department.

3. Policy of practice holding

• Put in order skills & knowledge to keeping sanitary-epidemic regime of a procedure room, realization aseptic and antiseptic principles;

• Put in order & mastering skills of injections, taking blood sample from a vein, collection equipment for intravenous dropping infusion & technique of a procedure;

Final results of a practice

Student has to know:

• Keeping sanitary-epidemic regime at a procedure room

• Filling documents for registration of medicines at a procedure room

Student has to be able:

• Take blood sample from a vein

• Carrying out intravenous injection

• Collect equipment for intravenous dropping infusion & technique of a procedure

• Catheterization of a urinary bladder in a female

• Catheterization of a urinary bladder in a male

Practice is in progress at Medical-Prophylactic establishments, ratified as practice bases. During the practice students have to be undergone the rules of internal order of an establishment, take participation to any organizational & medical-methodical action.

Organization, realization, & guidance are procuring by the Chair, trains the Discipline «Introduction to clinic - 2». Practice is carried out at extra-educational time according to schedule. Organization, realization & control for practice is carried out by experienced editor, responsible for practice, (docent, experienced assistant) in collaboration with medical personal of a clinic (Chief Nurse).

Daily student writes a diary, where reflects any work, which was done by him (her) during a day. Practice editor must observe accuracy & quality of work, also make needed correction, and sign a diary daily. It is recommended daily control of practical skills mastered by a student at concrete working place during a practice.

Current control of practice editor:

• Control of attendance & practical action of students at a work place in department;

• Control of students practical skills;

• Checking of students diaries

Final control - Exam

Student has to have to be admitted to final control:

1. Practice diary, checked & signed by a nurse & practice editor daily.

2. Characteristics, signed by practice editor, Chief Nurse of a clinic & Chairman.

3. Attendance register

Exam on professional practice is based on results of assessment controlling practical skills by a commission according to «Criteria…». Practical skills assessment is realized by grade-point & letter system with converting to %.

Kinds of practical action over the practice time:

• Participation to morning nurse conference;

• Work as assistant of procedural nurse at Therapy department;

Students discuss separate questions with practice editor during the whole practice period: requirements to work place & appearance of medical personal, writing medical documents, compatibility of medicines, before-doctor aid for emergency condition.
