Reflective component
My choice of picking up this topic is, firstly, constitutes to its medical area, as I am a student who interested in human medicine. Secondly, I have personally faced acute insomnia and I know many people who suffered from such kind of sleep disorder. My project could be useful for any kind of normal person, because everyone can face acute insomnia in his life.
To be honest, the title was changed several times after proposal. Initially, I aimed to research on sleep disorders in general, but after tutorial session with my tutor, Mark, I changed my mind. I made my title more concrete, and narrowed in one specific type of sleep disorder in order to make my arguments stronger and less superficial. With the help of my second tutor, David, I stated academic strong title for my research project.
Moving to writing process, for me finding and analyzing academic reliable sources were not such difficult. From the very beginning, I sorted out all the possible sources I have found by using source-evaluating criteria. The only problem was that this process was very time consuming, and I spent most of my time reading and evaluating sources.
The hardest thing in conducting this research paper was to choose a concrete topic form various options and to use an accurate academic language to present all the arguments and evaluations.
I did major improvements for final draft, as I got the feedbacks from my tutors and I knew where my weak points were. Time management for final draft was much better than for any other parts. I did spend 2-3 hours every day improving my work and I understood that it is definitely efficient way of writing up an academic paper.
