Basic Japanese IME Keyboard Setup
This is a basic guide on enabling the Japanese IME Keyboard, in order to type Japanese on Dynasty Warriors Online Z.
Setting up Japanese IME Keyboard
Please be aware that this is based on Windows 8, so other Windows Versions may or may not be different.
Open up the 'Control Panel'
Click on 'Change Input Method' under the 'Clock, Language and Region' Section
Click on 'Add a language'
Look for 'Japanese'
Click on 'Add'
Finished, now you can close Control Panel
Changing to Japanese IME Keyboard In Game
To switch between IME's simply press the 'Shift' and 'Alt' buttons until you have selected Japanese (May have to press 'Shift' and 'Alt' several times, but this is only if you have more than 1 IME enabled)
The game sets the Japanese IME to Hiragana (Form of Japanese Writing) by default.
How to type using Japanese IME
In order to type Japanese, you can not type in Capital Letters, as the ime does not recognize it as a part of their writing format.
Type in the Romanized version of the Word that you would like.
Press the 'Space Bar' to convert the word into Hirigana/Katakana or Kanji (These are the 3 forms of writing that are under the Japanese Language.
Keep pressing the Space Bar until the word that you are looking for appears. (Sometimes the word you're looking for will be first one, sometimes you will need to press the Space Bar several times before you can find it)
Then press 'Enter' to confirm
Type in the next word directly after (The Japanese Language does not require spaces in between each word)
An Example of this is as follows; 破竹ヒョウx is a Battle Room Title and means: No Aggression and No Throwing Knives. The pronunciation in Japanese (Romanji) to type it is: "hachiku hyou batsu-" (Dashes ' - ' between the Romanji means that you may have to press 'Space' several times to find the correct word. 'Spaces between the Romanji means that that will need to press 'Space' once and then press 'Enter')
In this case the complete written step by step command is as follows;
Type hachiku
Press 'Space' and then Press ’Enter’ to turn < はちく > into < 破竹 >
Type hyou
Press ’Space’ and then press ’Enter' to turn < ひょう > into <ヒョウ>
Type batsu
Press 'Space' and then press 'Enter' to turn < ばつ > to < x > (You may need to press 'Space' a few times)
However please be aware that sometimes the Japanese word that you are looking for will not necessarily appear upon pressing the 'Space Bar' once, You may need to press the 'Space Bar' several times before it appears.
Important note about the Translations
Please be aware that some words will consist of 'false' writing methods (This is to make it easier to find that specific word in Japanese), The pronunciation of the actual Japanese name/word may differ from the way that it has been written on this Wikia.
Greetings/Salutations
The dash - in between the Romanji means that you may need to press ‘Space’ several times to find it. Remember that the Japanese Language does not have ‘Spaces’ inbetween words. The ‘Spaces’ in the Romanji Column are merely to make it easier to read.
