Учні прослуховують вислови й мовні звороти, записані на диску, а потім читають один за одним по слову. Перекладають за допомогою вчителя.

What are you going to do? — Що ти збираєшся робити?

Have you ever thought of ...? — Ти колись думав (думала) про ...?

Perhaps you could ... — Можливо, ти повинен (повинна)...

It might be a good idea to ... — Мабуть, це гарна ідея ...

Would you care to ...? — Ти потурбуєшся про ...?

You’d better ... — Тобі було б краще ...

Why not...? — Чому б не...?

What are you up to after finishing school? — Що ти робитимеш після закінчення школи?

That suits me very well. — Це мене цілком влаштовує. Це мені пасує.

That would be great. — Це буде неперевершено.

Sorry, it’s not in my line. — Пробачте, це не в моїй компетенції (не моє).

I won’t fit in it, I’m afraid. — Боюся, це не моє.

— Since you are interested in film making, perhaps you could be­come a film director.

I’ll think about it.

— You have nice communicative skills. Why not try to become a journalist?

That suits me very well. It’s my cup of tea.

— You are interested in debating. You’d better become a politician.
